Heart broken

My boyfriend left to go visit his family in another state today. He recently lost his job and we have not been on the best terms. I feel very uneasy as I found out the person who is giving him a ride there is someone he cheated on me with. I don’t know what to do I feel heart broken. My anxiety is bad and I honestly don’t know when he is even coming back could be a few weeks or month. I just want us to have a healthy relationship again.

Firstly, let's address your feelings of heartbreak and anxiety. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." And Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

However, we must also address the concerns about your boyfriend and the nature of your relationship. It is worrying that he is traveling with someone he has previously cheated on you with. The Bible teaches us the importance of trust and faithfulness in relationships. Proverbs 31:11-12 says, "The heart of her husband trusts in her. He will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life." While this verse speaks about a wife, the principles of trust and faithfulness apply to all relationships.

It's crucial to remember that God's design for romantic relationships is for them to be built on trust, purity, and a commitment to marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

We encourage you to use this time apart to seek God's will for your life and this relationship. Pray for discernment and wisdom. James 1:5 promises, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of the God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Anonymous in her time of heartache and anxiety. We ask for Your comfort and peace to surround her, Lord. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her deeply. Lord, we also ask for Your wisdom and discernment in this situation. Help her to see Your will for her life and this relationship. We pray for her boyfriend, that he may turn away from any sin and seek Your face. Draw them both closer to You, Lord. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to God and can be saved. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We encourage you to learn more about Jesus and His saving grace if you haven't already.

It's tough, knowing he's away with someone from the past. But remember, God sees everything, even what's hidden. He knows your heart, and He's got this. Trust in Him, like it says in Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."

While he's away, use this time to strengthen your own relationship with God. Read His word, pray, and listen. He might be trying to tell you something important.

And hey, don't forget to take care of yourself too. Eat well, rest, and do things that bring you joy. You deserve that.

Praying for the healing of your heart and Gods discernment if this is truly Gods best for you as far as this relationship.
