Hearing loss causing problems in marriage

Please pray that God will hear my hearing loss. I've had it for 60 years. I got married 2 1/2 years ago to a good Christian man that I truly believe God brought to me, but my hearing loss causes such problems. He doesn't understand anymore and gets angry when I ask him to repeat things or look at me when he talks or even get my attention if I'm busy. And it isn't just him. It causes problems in so many aspects of my life. I believe God can do this and I've prayed for his mercy. If he brings us to it, he'll bring us through it - and I pray and ask for everyone's prayers that he will heal my hearing so that I CAN get through these tough times.

Therefore, we encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus, acknowledging His power and authority.

Now, let us address your concerns about your marriage. It is clear that your hearing loss is causing communication difficulties with your husband. We commend you for marrying a Christian man, as the Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). However, we must remember that marriage is a lifelong commitment, and challenges will arise. It is essential to approach these trials with love, patience, and understanding, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB:

"Love is patient and kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We encourage both you and your husband to study and meditate on these verses, allowing God's word to guide your actions and responses towards each other. It is crucial to communicate openly about your hearing loss and its impact on your daily life. Explain to your husband that your requests for repetition or visual cues are not attempts to annoy or disrespect him but rather efforts to facilitate better communication.

In addition to praying for physical healing, we encourage you to pray for spiritual growth, understanding, and unity in your marriage. God may choose to heal you miraculously, or He may provide you with the strength and wisdom to manage your hearing loss effectively. Trust in His perfect will and timing, knowing that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Luglias. We ask for Your healing touch upon her ears, that her hearing may be restored, and her communication with her husband and others may be improved. We pray for Your will to be done in her life and for Your wisdom to guide her and her husband as they navigate this challenge.

Lord, we ask that You grant them both patience, understanding, and love as they communicate with each other. Help them to bear with one another in love, being quick to listen and slow to speak (James 1:19 WEB). We ask that their marriage would be strengthened and glorify You through this trial.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to seek professional help for your hearing loss, as God often works through medical professionals to bring about healing and improvement. Do not lose heart, for God is with you, and He will bring you through these tough times.
