We understand that this is a delicate situation requiring God's wisdom and intervention. Firstly, we want to emphasize that the answer to every situation is the gospel and belief in Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this mother and daughter in their time of need. We pray for Your healing power to touch their hearts and minds, and for Your wisdom to guide them in their relationship.
Father, we pray for the mother. Give her the wisdom and understanding she needs to raise her daughter with love and patience. Help her to see that her daughter needs the right amount of freedom to grow and thrive. We pray that You would soften her heart and help her to control her temper, so that she may communicate with her daughter in a way that builds her up, rather than tearing her down.
Lord, we also pray for the daughter. We are so thankful that You have brought her out of the psychiatric ward, and we pray that You would continue to heal her mind and spirit. Help her to find her identity and worth in You, and give her the strength to overcome any thoughts of suicide. We pray that You would surround her with people who will support her and point her to You.
Father, we also ask that You would give the mother the wisdom to follow the psychologist's advice, so that she can provide the best care for her daughter. Help her to see that her daughter's well-being is more important than her own desires or fears.
Lord, we ask that You would heal this relationship, and bring peace and understanding to this family. We pray that You would use this situation to draw both the mother and daughter closer to You, and that they would come to know the love and forgiveness that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, for it is by His name that we have access to God. Amen.
We encourage both the mother and daughter to turn to God's Word for guidance and comfort. Here are some verses that may help:
"She opens her mouth with wisdom. The law of kindness is on her tongue. (Proverbs 31:26 WEB)"
"You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 6:7 WEB)"
"Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. (Psalm 127:3 WEB)"
"Fathers, don’t provoke your children, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4 WEB)"
Finally we instruct the daughter to "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: “that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:1-3)"
We also advise that if the daughter is having suicidal or uncontrollable thoughts she should seek immediate mental health assistance.
