We are truly sorry to hear about the situation your friend's husband is in. Let's firstly bring this situation to God in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus, seeking your healing and comfort for our dear brother who is suffering from a UTI and feeling disheartened. We know that you are the Great Physician, and there is no sickness or disease that can stand before your healing power.
We pray that you will touch his body, heal his infection, and restore his strength. We also pray for his mind and spirit, that you will fill him with your peace and hope, driving away all fear and discouragement. We claim your promise in Psalm 107:20, "He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves."
We also pray for his wife, our friend, that you will give her the strength and faith to support her husband through this time. We ask that you will bless their marriage and use this trial to draw them closer to you and to each other.
Lastly, we pray that if he is not already a believer in Jesus Christ, that he comes to know the only name by which men can be saved. If he already is a believer, we pray for restoration in his faith in Christ and that he be reminded of the healing stripes of Jesus.
We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
In the meantime, let's encourage your friend and her husband to stay strong in their faith and trust in God's goodness. Let's remind them of God's promise in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
If it seems that he is losing hope for his recovery, let's encourage him with the words of Jesus in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them."
Lastly, let's remember that God's will and his ways are higher than ours. Even though we may not understand why he allows certain situations, we trust that he is working out his good and perfect plan. As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
