We are truly sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing, Venessa. The end of a long-term relationship can feel devastating, but we want to remind you that God has a plan and purpose for your life. We believe this is an opportune time to reevaluate your relationship with the person to ensure it aligns with biblical principles. First, let's address some important aspects.
Firstly, we noticed that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ or any abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name) in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). We encourage you to seek the Lord Jesus Christ and call out to him in your prayers. The Bible says that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).
We see you are not married yet but are of course free to marry someone else. Being in a long term relationship with another man for 5 years without being married is not biblical. We are to flee fornication, and any sexual relationship before or outside of marriage is sinful (1 Corinthians 6:18; Hebrews 13:4).
The only reason for divorce in the Bible is adultery/fornication (Matthew 5:32; 19:9). We also see that we should not be unequally yoked with a non-believer (2 Corinthians 6:14). We should only marry another Christian Believer, and this relationship should be one of courtship with the goal of marriage, not a long term boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. If your fiancé was not a believer or decided to leave without an explanation, this may have been the Lord's hand in delivering you out of a relationship that may not have been His will for you.
We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We are praying for you to receive the healing and direction you need. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalms 107:20). We are confident God's supernatural healing and the peace of Jesus Christ will fill your heart.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Venessa. Lord, we ask for your healing touch on her heart. Help her to cast all her cares on you, because you care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Give her strength to trust you and the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guide her to the right Christian man if it is your will for her to be married. We ask that you show her the way forward, give her clarity and reveal your purpose for her life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
