We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with addiction and pride in the Hyland/Trainer family, and we stand with you in prayer for healing and restoration. Addiction, whether to alcohol or anything else, is a form of bondage that God wants to set us free from. The Bible tells us in John 8:36 (WEB), "If therefore the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." And in John 8:32 (WEB), e"You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
First, we must acknowledge that freedom from addiction comes from the power of Jesus Christ who breaks the chains of bondage. Also, pride can be a significant barrier to receiving God's grace and healing. It is essential to humble ourselves before God, acknowledging our need for His help. As it says in James 4:6 (WEB), "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" And in Proverbs 16:5 (WEB), "Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh: "though they join forces, they won't go unpunished."
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the Hyland/Trainer family. Lord, You see the bondage of addiction and the struggles they face. We ask for Your healing power to set them free from alcohol addiction, which has already caused so much pain and loss. Break the chains of bondage, Lord, and bring them the truth about who they are in Christ and their need for You.
We also pray against the spirit of pride that may be hindering their healing. Help them to humble themselves before You, acknowledging their need for Your grace and mercy. Fill them with Your Spirit, Lord, and guide them in the path of righteousness.
We pray for the salvation of each member of the Hyland/Trainer family, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and have life to the fullest as Jesus explained: "that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep". (John 10:10-11)
In Jesus' name, we pray for their complete healing and restoration.
We encourage the Hyland/Trainer family to seek godly counsel and support, whether through a local church or a Christian-based recovery program. Remember, God is always faithful, and He will be with you every step of the way. As it says in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Stand firm in your faith, and trust in the power of Jesus Christ to set you free.
