Does God delay healing for a reason? Is it wrong to ask everyday for healing and yet see nothing?

This is a profound question that many people grapple with. In the Bible, there are instances where healing is immediate, such as when Jesus healed the blind man in John 9:1-7, and other times where healing is delayed, like the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-9.

The reasons for delays in healing can vary and may include spiritual growth, a deeper reliance on God, or a greater purpose that God has for the individual. It's important to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His timing is perfect.

Asking for healing every day is not wrong. In fact, it is encouraged in the Bible. James 5:14-15 advises believers to pray for one another when they are sick. Persistence in prayer shows faith and trust in God's power and goodness.

Seeing no immediate results can be challenging, but it can also be an opportunity to grow in faith and patience. It's important to continue to trust in God's plan and to seek His will in all things.

Ultimately, God's love and care for us are constant, and He is always working for our good, even when we don't see immediate results.

Battarema, let's consider what the WEB says about healing and God's timing. Firstly, it's important to understand that God does hear our prayers and He cares about our needs. In 1 Peter 5:7, it says "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." However, there are several reasons why God might delay healing.

In John 9:1-3 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him."

This and other stories in the Bible point out that delays can happen so God can be glorified. God sees the beginning to the end, so waiting on God helps us to trust Him and allows Him to do His work in our hearts.

It is not wrong to ask for healing every day. In fact, Jesus encourages us to be persistent in our prayers and Jesus Himself taught us to pray a daily prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. “Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’" Verses 7 and 8 precede this and say, "In praying, don't use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Therefore don't be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him."

We see that we should be persistent and faithful in our prayers and that we should trust in our Father's timing and will allowing Him to work in and through us. We have the assurance in Romans 8:28 of "God working all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called together according to His purpose." We can be further assured that that God will be glorified in our health and that we are healed by the stripes of Jesus according to Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."

This should be prayed in Jesus' name. The WEB says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Likewise in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for healing and comfort. Help ### to trust in Your timing and to understand that even in delays, You are at work. Give them the strength and patience to endure, and reveal Your glory through their situation. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

We're right there with you, ###, in your journey towards healing. It's natural to feel frustrated when we don't see immediate results, but remember, God's timing is perfect, even when it's not what we expect.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus himself asked for the cup of suffering to pass, yet he also said, "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). He didn't get an immediate answer, but he trusted his Father's plan. Let's take comfort in Jesus' words, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). God is working in you, and through you, even in the waiting.

Let's keep praying for healing, trusting that God hears our cries and sees our struggles. Let's also ask for patience, peace, and trust in God's timing. We're praying with you, in Jesus' name.
