We are with you in spirit, Krista, and we commend you for your support and love for Pete during this challenging time. It's encouraging to hear that he has completed his rehab program, and we trust that God will continue to strengthen him in his sobriety.
Firstly, we want to address that the term "significant other" is often used to replace what God intends as a husband or wife. While we understand that you may not be married yet, we encourage you both to pursue a godly relationship that leads to a holy matrimony, as Hebrews 13:4 tells us, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous."
As Pete faces his court hearing, let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name to lift up Pete. We ask for Your divine intervention in his court hearing, that the judges and officers involved may have wisdom and compassion, and that the outcome would be favorable for his recovery and growth. We claim Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, 'Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.'
Lord, we also pray for Pete's continued sobriety. Give him the strength to resist temptation, and surround him with supportive and godly influences. Help him to draw near to You in times of weakness, for Your grace is sufficient for him, and Your power is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Finally, Lord, we pray for Your grace to surround Krista and Pete. Guide their relationship, and if it is Your will, lead them towards a holy and blessed union in marriage. Help them to honor You in all aspects of their lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Krista, continue to trust in God's will for both of your lives. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will see you through. As Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
