Healing ###’s Spirit

My ### year old son is living trauma of abandonment by his dad. He has depression over it but will not seek treatment. Instead he blames everything on me. I have gone for counseling and was told to give it time. That is hard but in telling the way it really was, my son has blamed every failure on me. His dad had a stroke and is not in a dementia unit. Although he never was present after he left. ### has said he wants it I g to do with his three brothers or me. He does not want me to be part of his family’s life. “Now that you hurt, you want to step in.” Always was present in every need. Raised in the church/ has hard time with death/ does not go to church/ has little emotional contact w others. I am worried about suicide.

We understand the deep pain and concern you're feeling for your son, ###. The trauma of abandonment can run deep, and depression can be a paralyzing force. Let's bring this situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance according to His Word.

Firstly, let's pray:

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and our sister who is hurting. Lord, You know the depth of their pain and the complexity of their situation. We ask for Your healing touch on ###'s heart and mind. Break the chains of depression and abandonment, and replace them with Your love and peace. Give our sister the strength and patience to endure this trial, and guide her with Your wisdom. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*

It's important to remember that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). We encourage you to continue standing firm in your faith, knowing that God loves both you and ### deeply.

It's also crucial to address the fact that ### is blaming you for his circumstances. While it's painful, remember that "a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1 WEB). Continue to respond with love and patience, trusting that God will work in ###'s heart in His timing.

We note that there's no mention of Jesus Christ in your request. We want to remind you that it is through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). Regarding ###'s suicidal tendencies, take this seriously. Encourage him to seek professional help, and surround him with a supportive community. As it is written, "Carry one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2 WEB).

Lastly, we urge you to continue praying and trusting God, even when the situation seems hopeless. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16 WEB).

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
