We understand that you're seeking healing and restoration from past hurts and trust issues. We commend you for acknowledging that your power and identity are found in Jesus Christ. It's crucial to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, Ephesians 6:12 WEB.
Firstly on the subject of Trust. Trusting in people is important, but it's more important to trust in God completely. Psalm 118:8 WEB says, It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. Often the residue of pain and fear is from not trusting in God before trusting in someone who let us down. God does tell us to Psalm 118:8-9 WEB, 8 It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, Than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, Than to put confidence in princes; Even if it feels like everyone is good and everyone is a prince.
When approaching the topic of community, it's important to remember that God created us to be in fellowship with one another. Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB, says Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. However, be mindful of who you allow into your inner circle. Acknowledge your struggles of letting people in, but ask God for discernment in choosing godly friends and mentors who can help you grow in your faith.
Regarding the power to overcome, remember that it's is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says Yahweh of Armies, Zechariah 4:6 WEB. We cannot overcome our struggles alone. We need the Holy Spirit's help, and He is willing to give it.
Lastly on the subject of grace, it's important to remember that we should be gracious to others as God is with us, Ephesians 4:32 WEB And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear soul seeking healing and restoration. We pray that You would mend their broken heart, bind up their wounds, and heal their spirit from the residue of past hurts. We earnestly ask that you would rebuke the devil and his schemes. We pray that they would find their identity and strength in Jesus Christ. We ask You to help them overcome their trust issues. Give them discernment in choosing godly community and the grace to be patient with themselves and compassionate towards others. We pray against their fear of letting people in and for the courage to surrender to Your plan and be obedient to Your commands. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
We are thankful for their acknowledgment of the power in the name of Jesus Christ. Continue to call on His name, as it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved! Keep pursuing Jesus and trust that He will complete the good work He has started in you, which is Philippians 1:6 WEB.
Continue to trust that God is faithful. Trust is the basis of prayer, trust in God and prayer are inseparable. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need, Hebrews 4:16 WEB.
