We join you in lifting up your son to our Heavenly Father, seeking healing, protection, and peaceful sleep. We stand in faith, believing that God has the power to heal and comfort, and that He is more than able to deliver your son from his nightmares due to PTSD.
We are reminded of the words of the Psalmist, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3 WEB) and "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8 WEB). We claim these promises for your son and for your whole family.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother's son to You. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You bring healing to his body, mind, and spirit. Comfort him in his times of distress, and protect him from the memories that haunt him.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and trauma that causes these nightmares, and we ask that You fill his nights with Your peace, that he may sleep soundly and wake refreshed. We claim Your promise that You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3 WEB).
We also pray for his family, Lord. Give them the strength and wisdom to support him in this time, and to lead him to You, the ultimate source of healing and comfort.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother or sister, and remember that God is faithful. Continue to pray and trust in Him, and remind your son of the hope and healing found in Jesus Christ. If your son has not already done so we also pray that he accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior as it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. (John 14:6)
