We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of God, seeking healing, protection, and peaceful sleep. The Bible tells us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46.1, WEB).
Firstly, we praise God that you have come to Him through Jesus Christ, as it is only by His name that we are saved and have access to our Heavenly Father. Just as the disciples prayed for boldness in the name of Jesus, we too can come to God with our requests in His name (Acts 4.29-30, WEB).
In regard to your son, consider that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34.18, WEB). We pray that your son will experience God's comfort and healing, releasing him from the nightmares and trauma of PTSD. May the Lord be his light and his salvation (Psalm 27.1, WEB), granting him peaceful nights of sleep and sweet dreams from above.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother's son to You. Lord, You know the struggles he faces, the nightmares that plague his sleep. We ask, Father, that You comfort him, heal his mind and heart. Cast out the terrors of the night and grant him peaceful sleep. May Your protection be upon him, and may Your healing hand restore his body, soul, and spirit.
Father, we also pray for his faith. May this trial draw him closer to You, that he may come to know You as his Savior and his fortress. May He trust in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, amen.
In this time, immerse yourself and your son in God's Word, the Bible. It is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6.17, WEB) and a lamp to your feet (Psalm 119.105, WEB). Trust in the Lord, and He will act (Psalm 37.5, WEB). Care for your son as a parent ought to, but remember that release from this spiritual and emotional affliction is ultimately something only God can provide. Turn to Him, trust in Him, and He will act. Cry out to Jesus Christ and He will save.
