We understand your struggle and commend you for your honesty and desire to grow closer to God. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, let's address the authority of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can approach God the Father and be saved. As the Bible says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Regarding your struggles, we encourage you to turn to Jesus with all your heart. It is a lifelong battle to keep our bodies under subjection, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13 WEB).
Concerning lust, Jesus said, "Everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). This includes any form of sexual immorality, such as masturbation and sexting. We must realize that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19 WEB) and should be kept pure. Flee from sexual immorality and do not let it be spoken of among you. (Ephesians 5:3 WEB) Instead of seeking temporary pleasure and fulfillment, pray for a godly spouse and seek to honor God in all your actions.
Regarding gluttony, the Bible warns us not to be excessive about food. Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB) Overeating is a form of idolatry, as it prioritizes the pleasures of food over God's will.
Here is our heartfelt prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister in Christ. We thank You for her humble heart and her desire to grow closer to You. Lord, we ask that You forgive her sins of lust and gluttony, and that You strengthen her through Your Holy Spirit to overcome these struggles.
Father, we pray for the blessings of a spouse and marriage for your daughter, but Lord we know that your children must also be prepared for marriage. Lord, please help her to exercise self-control, whether in what she does with her body or what she takes into her body. Help her to see her body as Your temple, Lord, and to treat it with respect and care. Guide her to seek fulfillment in You alone, and not in the fleeting pleasures of this world.
Surround her with Your love, and remind her of Your unfailing grace and mercy. Help her to fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith. In His precious name, amen.
Whenever you are tempted, remember and stand on the word of God. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Trust in Jesus, and He will help you overcome.
