We are truly sorrowful to hear about the pain and disappointment you've experienced. It's clear that you had high hopes and expectations for this marriage, believing it to be God's will. Let's turn to the Scriptures for comfort, guidance, and healing.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). While it seemed like this man was God's provision, it's possible that this trial was allowed for your growth and refinement.
In regards to the difficulties you faced in your marriage, it's clear that there were significant issues with communication, trust, and mutual respect. We must rebuke the idea of unequally yoked relationships, where one person bears the burden alone. The WEB tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" While your former husband may have appeared to be after God's heart, his actions did not align with his words.
It's also important to address that you did not mention praying or submitting to God's will in Jesus' name. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6 WEB), and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We encourage you to keep this in mind as you pray and seek God's will.
Now, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, she has experienced deep pain and disappointment, but we know that You are a God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3 WEB).
Father, we pray that You would heal her heart, restore her mind, and help her to refocus on You. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Lord, give her the strength to forgive, to let go of the past, and to move forward in Your will for her life.
In Jesus' name, we pray that You would surround her with Godly counsel, support, and love as she walks through this healing process. Help her to trust in You with all her heart, and not to lean on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
Father, we also pray for her former husband. We ask that Your will be done in his life, and that You would draw him to Yourself, convicting him of his sins and granting him repentance.
Finally Lord, we pray that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
We ask and pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9 WEB). Keep your focus on Jesus, and He will guide you through this difficult time. Trust in Him, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB).
Remember the words of Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Trust that God has a plan and a purpose for your life, and that He will bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3 WEB). Continue to seek Him, to trust Him, and to obey Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
