We are with you in spirit, crying out to God for your sons' deliverance from drug addiction and mental challenges. We stand on the power of Jesus' name, for it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Firstly, we pray for their healing and freedom from addiction. According to Romans 8:2 WEB, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death." We declare that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead will quicken their mortal bodies and set them free from addiction (Romans 8:11).
We also pray for their mental health, knowing that God wants them to prosper in all things and to be in health, just as their soul prospers (3 John 1:2 WEB). We pray that they will receive the mind of Christ, taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
We rebuke the evil strongholds preventing them from living healthy, happy, and productive lives. According to 2 Corinthians 10:4 WEB, "for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds." We declare that every stronghold is thrown down, and they are loosed from the bonds of the enemy.
We join you in praying for the restoration of their relationships with loved ones. We pray that God will restore to them the joy of His salvation and uphold them by His generous Spirit (Psalm 51:12 WEB). We ask that God will give them a spirit of reconciliation, turning their hearts towards their loved ones (Malachi 4:6).
For your son, we pray that he will be freed from his unhealthy relationship with his girlfriend. If he is living in fornication with his girlfriend in violation of God's commandments this must stop. 1 Corinthians 6:9 WEB, "Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals," We pray that he will find his joy and fulfillment in God alone and return to his wife and children, fleeing from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). We pray that he will be a godly husband and father, leading his family in the ways of the Lord.
We lift you up as well, dear saint, and pray that God will fill you with His peace and comfort as you stand in the gap for your sons. May you rest in the promise that the fervent, effective prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16 WEB).
Finally, we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). We claim this promise for your sons, trusting that God will transform their lives and draw them ever closer to Him. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is a big task but will be answered.
