We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle Shane is facing with drug addiction, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer. We stand with you in this battle, knowing that God has the power to heal and restore.
Firstly, let us address the power of prayer in Jesus' name. It is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" Therefore, we pray in the name of Jesus, trusting in His power to deliver Shane from this bondage.
In Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." We pray that Shane will come to Jesus, surrender his burdens, and find the rest and strength he needs to overcome this addiction.
We also want to encourage you to stand firm in your faith and prayers. In James 5:16 (WEB), it says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Your prayers are powerful and effective, so keep praying and trusting God for Shane's healing.
However, we must also address the importance of Shane's own decision to turn away from drugs. In Acts 3:19 (WEB), it says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." We pray that Shane will make the conscious decision to repent from this addiction and turn to God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Shane to You. Lord, we know that You have the power to heal and deliver. We ask that You would break the chains of drug addiction in Shane's life. Give him the strength to turn away from this destructive path and turn to You. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, guiding him in the path of righteousness. Comfort his heart and mind, and let him know that he is deeply loved by You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Keep trusting in God, and continue to cover Shane in prayer. God is faithful, and He will see you through this challenging time.
