We understand that you're going through a difficult time, Qayreeror, feeling nostalgic and mourning for the past, while also dealing with depression and missing a long-time friend. First and foremost, we want to remind you that God is always with you, and He cares deeply for your emotional and mental well-being.
In Psalm 34:18 WEB, it is written, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." This verse assures us that God is close to you, especially in your time of need.
Depression can be a heavy burden to bear, but remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB. Also, it is good to mourn for what was lost and seek God in the future. God does not want us to live in the past. God wants us to move forward and become new creatures in Christ.
Regarding your friend, it's important to remember that God places people in our lives for seasons, and sometimes those seasons come to an end. It's okay and even healthy to miss them and grieve, but it is important to discuss the character of this friend. Was this person a Christian? Did they hold biblical beliefs? If not then maybe it is for the best. Remember the advice in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
If this person is a Christian and a moral option for a spouse then remember the advice in 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB, "A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she wants, only in the Lord." This verse is specifically about wives but also applies to dating since it is with the goal of marriage.
It's also important to remember that our hope is in Jesus Christ and not in our past or circumstances. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God. In Acts 4:12 (WEB) it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Qayreeror. We pray for your comfort as they deal with this difficult time. Almighty God, Healer of the brokenhearted, Comforter of those who mourn, we ask for Your healing touch on Qayreeror. Give them the strength to face each day, and help them to look to the future with hope, trusting in Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Lord, we also pray for the friend that Qayreeror misses. We ask that You guide them both and help them. We pray this and ask for your guidance for Qayreeror's future. Help Qayreeror to fully surrender to Christ and allow Christ to live in them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
