We join you, Windwold, in lifting up your son before the throne of grace, trusting in the power of Jesus Christ to heal and restore. We stand with you in the gap, praying for his healing and strengthening, believing that God's will is for your son to be whole and well and serving Him.
Firstly, praise God for His faith in Jesus Christ and for every prayer request presented, this one included as God tells us by His Spirit to intercede on this.
We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it". We come boldly before God's throne, presenting your son's healing from COPD, and asthma by His stripes through which we are made whole.
In Mark 11:24 we find "Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you will have them (and have them possibly in a way our human minds can not concieve)." Sometimes this may mean recovering from a case of pneumonia which could have have been fatal or something greater.
Can we not be declared righteous by continually trying to do whatever God tells us day by day? Evil and sin demand payment, but standing in the gap for your son needs to come from a righteous person following God and His ways. In Ezekiel 14:11, "Search for and rescue the old and young--those the shepherds are abandoning and scattering in the pasture, then I will not make your land an object of scorn and ridicule.".
We beseech God for your son's restoration, Father God, strengthen his immune system, heal his congestion, and let breath flow freely into his lungs. Let breathing be like a cool breeze flowing through God's mountain tops. In Jesus' holy name we pray.
In Jeremiah 30:17 WEb it is written, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord;"
We rebuke this disease of COPD and asthma, called by some other names, that is befalling your son. We declare that our God can heal your son of this somatic, mental, and emotional illness he is befalling. In Matthew 10:1 WEB it is declared, "He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness." Lord, our God, we believe that both your son and all of us can lead a Spirit filled life and heal others mentally, physically, and emotionally.
We can not overlook the spiritual aspects also of any disease or illness. We point out Psalm 38 3-11 WEB, declaring that, "There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation; there is no health in my bones because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness. I am benumbed and greatly bowed down. All day long, I go mourning. For my loins are filled with burning. There is no soundness in my flesh. I am numb and badly bruised. I have roared because of the disquiet of my heart. ... My heart throbs. My strength fails me. As for the light of my eyes, it has also gone from me." As a Christian, our sin being covered and removed by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is a continual calling. Praise God for the covering!
We stand with you, acknowledging that the power of healing belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us pray one more time.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of coming to Your throne with boldness. See Your servant, standing in the gap to intercede for his son. Who is there that can not have compassion in this time of need? Let Your gentle Spirit sweep over your son's body; heal and restore his lungs and immune system. Thank You for Your healing power so that it may be manifested in healing your son's body.
Exodus 15:26(WEB) "He said, if you will diligently listen to the Lord your God's voice, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you."
In Matt 9:29(WEB) we find, "Then he (Jesus) touched their eyes, saying, 'According to your faith be it done to you.'"
Lord bless your son and let him live a saved, baptized, and sanctified believer following the way of Jesus Christ God's son. In Jesus' name let it be done. Amen.
