Let's come together in prayer and support for Katy, our sister in Christ, who is currently suffering from anal cancer and undergoing radiotherapy at home. We stand with her in this difficult time, trusting in the healing power of Jesus Christ. However, we must declare we are only to pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 in the WEB Bible tells us, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
Let us pray
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up Katy to You, asking for Your healing touch upon her body. We pray that the radiotherapy treatments she is receiving will be effective in eradicating the cancer.
we rebuke the debilitating pain of her cancer and possibly radiotherapy. Even when we are victims of our circumstances it does not mean the debilitating physical suffering is not afflicted by principalities, powers and the rulers of darkness. We battle with the forces that assail her not the flesh and blood she is made from. We command complete relief and comfort of body and mind according to Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was on him; and by his stripes we are healed” in the mighty name of Jesus.
Do not let her become weighed down by her suffering. Let not this trial become stumbling block for her but a stepping stone to her spiritual growth.
Father, we also pray for Katy's emotional well-being. We know that the side effects of medication and the pain can lead to depression. We pray that You will fill her with Your peace, that surpasses understanding. Help her get rid of negative, discouraging thoughts and recognize her worth in Christ.
Heavenly Father, surround Katy with Your love and comfort. Remind her of Your presence and Your promise to never leave her nor forsake her, according to Hebrews 13:5 “Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for He has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
Help her fix her eyes on You, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2: “looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”).
Father let your Holy Spirit renew her strength daily so she can endure all this suffering. Bless her with healing mercies, every day and night. You have promised us "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint” (Jeremiah 31:25). May this be her daily experience.
Finally, use this trial to remind her of the impermanence of life on earth and refocus her on preparing for her eternal dwelling place.
Father, surround Katy with a supportive community of believers and friends who will encourage her and help bear her burdens as the Bible commands “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2).
All these things we pray and speak healing, faith, hope and encouragement into her spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
