We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your son is facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer. We believe in the power of prayer and the healing that only God can provide.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the promise in the Bible that says, If you will call on me, I will answer, show you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3, WEB. God is always ready and willing to help us in our times of need, and there is nothing too hard for Him. Zechariah 8:6, WEB.
When dealing with matters of the mind, it is essential to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12, WEB. Therefore, we must put on the whole armor of God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our ###'s son to you. Lord, you know the struggles he is facing due to his past life of using drugs. We ask that you forgive him and his sins, wash him and make him clean by the blood of Jesus. Father, we ask that you heal his mind and protect his mental health. Give him the strength to overcome any withdrawal symptoms and fill him with your peace that passes all understanding. Philippians 4:7, WEB.
We pray that you will give him a sound mind and remove any confusion or anxiety. 2 Timothy 1:7, WEB. Help him to think clearly and make wise decisions. We also pray that you will surround him with godly influences and remove any negative influences from his life. 2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB
We ask that you will guide him to a good bible believing Church and surround him with supportive Christians to help him in his journey. Help him to see that he is valued and loved by you, and that he has a purpose and a destiny. Jeremiah 29:11, WEB.
We also pray for his mother, that you will give her the strength and wisdom to support her son during this time. Help her to be a source of encouragement and guidance for him.
Finally, Lord, we pray that he will come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior if he doesn't already. The scriptures say that without Christ one is lost. We ask that you will draw him to yourself and that he will accept you and your Son into his life. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. The only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12, WEB.
We praise you and thank you for what you are going to do in this young man's life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue praying for your son and trusting God for his healing. Remember that God is faithful, and he will complete the good work he started. Philippians 1:6, WEB. Continue to declare God's promises over his life and believe that he will be completely restored.
