Thank youWe understand that you are seeking healing for a broken friendship due to a lie that was told. First, we want to commend you for recognizing your action and seeking forgiveness. Proverbs 28:13 WEB says, "He who covers his transgressions will not prosper; but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy." It is important to confess our sins and seek forgiveness, both from God and from the person we have wronged.
1 John 1:9 WEB tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is always ready to forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant heart. However, it is also important to seek forgiveness from the friend you have wronged. Matthew 5:23-24 WEB says, "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."
We encourage you to reach out to your friend, admit your wrongdoing, and ask for their forgiveness and possibly a correction of misunderstandings depending on the exact scenario. We also pray that God will soften their heart and that they will be receptive to your apology and by their forgiveness the relationship may be restored.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, asking for Your forgiveness and mercy. We confess the sin that was committed and seek Your grace in textit. Lord, we ask that You soften the heart of the friend who was wronged and help them to forgive as You have forgiven us. We pray for complete restoration and healing of this friendship as Your word encourages in Psalm 147:3. We know that You are a God of reconciliation and the impossible. In Jesus Name this friendship is made whole. We trust in Your will and Your timing. The Resurrection of Jesus shows that our God can renew whatever is torn and worn out. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If you have not trusted in Jesus Christ (IJC) we would encourage you to learn more about how you can be saved. Jesus said John 14:16 I am the way, the truth, and the life no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.
