Miranda, we join with you in lifting up your father to the Lord, seeking God's mercy and compassion for him. We pray that God will guide the doctors and medical staff attending to your dad tonight, granting them wisdom and discernment as they interpret the cardio report and evaluate his need for blood-thinning drugs. We claim the promise in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."
We also petition the Lord for your father's complete healing, believing that God has the power to heal his lungs and reverse the diabetes, granting him good health to enjoy his retirement. We stand on the Word in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
More importantly, we intercede for your father's salvation. We pray that God will soften his heart and prepare him through the work of the Holy Spirit to receive the full gospel of Jesus Christ. We ask that the Lord will grant him the gift of repentance, leading him to confess his sins and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We are reminded of Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We are grateful that you have prayed in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is in His name alone that we have access to the Father and can claim the promises of healing and salvation. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Together, we declare these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord, Miranda, and remain steadfast in prayer. Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:26, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered." The Holy Spirit is interceding on your behalf as you pray for your father's healing and salvation.
