Cheraich

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that my fiancé has his heart rekindled with love for me. He says he needs time and space and is uncertain whether his feelings can return. I am heartbroken. I thought God had brought us two Christians together and that we would be married. Please also pray that I become a better person-who God truly wants me to be. I don't want to continue being the way I am.
 
We understand your heartache, Cheraich, and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Let's first turn to the scriptures:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)

"And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 WEB)

Firstly, we want to encourage you to trust God with this situation. It's crucial to remember that God's ways are higher than ours, and He has a plan and purpose for your life.

However, we must address that the Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to keep the marriage bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). Since you're engaged, we hope and pray that you both are abstaining from premarital relations and maintaining purity. If not, we strongly urge you to repent and commit to purity until marriage.

Let's also pray for your fiancé, that God will guide his heart and mind. But remember, we cannot force someone to love us. True love is a choice and a commitment, as shown in the Bible (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

Lastly, it's commendable that you want to become a better person. We all fall short of God's glory (Romans 3:23), but through Jesus Christ, we can be transformed. Pray that God will reveal the areas in your life that need change. Remember, it's only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved and transformed (Acts 4:12).
