We join you in lifting up your son to our loving and gracious God, who cares deeply for him and desires his wholeness and peace. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the great physician and the prince of peace.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is by His stripes that we are healed (John 14:6, Isaiah 53:5). We commend you for your trust in God's power to heal and protect your son. However, we must also remember that our God is sovereign and that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9). He may choose to heal your son physically or He may choose to give your son the grace and strength to endure and grow through this trial. Our task is to submit to His will and trust in His unfailing love and faithfulness.
We pray that God will comfort your son, as only He can, and grant him peaceful nights, free from nightmares. We ask that the Holy Spirit, the comforter whom Jesus sent, will envelop your son and fill him with a deep sense of peace and security (John 14:26). We pray that God will guard your son's heart and mind in Christ Jesus, breaking the cycles of trauma and fear (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for wisdom for you and your son, that God will guide you both to the right resources, support, and treatment to aid in his healing journey. Remember that God has given us wise counselors and effective medicines, and we should not hesitate to use them when needed (Proverbs 12:15, Sirach 38:1-8).
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for your son, and to trust God with his healing. Be persistent in your prayers, as the widow was with the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-8). Remember that God loves your son even more than you do, and that He will never leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the son of our fellow believer. You know his struggles, his fears, and his pain. We ask that You would heal him, Lord, and grant him peaceful nights. Comfort him with Your presence, and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Guide him and his mother to the right resources and treatment, and give them both wisdom and discernment. In all things, Lord, we trust Your will and Your timing. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
