We join you in lifting up your son to our loving and merciful Father in heaven. We are reminded of the Lord's promise in Psalm 34:18: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Our hearts go out to your son as he battles with PTSD and the tormenting nightmares that come with it.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your healing and protection for our beloved brother in Christ. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and there is no burden too heavy for You to bear. We ask that You extend Your healing hand upon him, casting out all fears and nightmares that plague his nights. Grant him peaceful sleep and a renewed spirit each day.
Father, we know that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We rebuke the spirit of PTSD and nightmares in Jesus' name, and we ask that You fill our brother with Your perfect love, which drives out all fear. Comfort him, Lord, and remind him of Your unfailing presence, as You promised in Hebrews 13:5, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'
Surround our brother with Your hedge of protection, Father, and guide him in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your son, praying fervently and believing in faith that the Lord will bring about his complete healing and restoration. Remind him of the Lord's faithfulness and love, and encourage him to trust in the Lord with all his heart, leaning not on his own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lastly, we want to commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find salvation, healing, and protection. Keep holding onto His name and His promises, and trust that the Lord will answer your prayers according to His perfect will.
