We join with you, Anonymous, in lifting up your son before God
Firstly, we acknowledge the use of Jesus name with your request, as you appropriately ended your prayer with in Jesus name. We can approach God the Father in no other name, as supported by scripture
Whatever you will ask in my name that will I do (John 14:13, WEB)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved (John 4:12 WEB).
God is a God of comfort, and we can boldly come before Him, who assures us that He is a very present help in times of trouble
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
It is not uncommon for a heartfelt prayer for healing healing to be offered up and we are told to pray with expectation for God is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
We see evidence of this with the raising of the widow's son
It happened afterward, that he went into a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him. Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Dont cry. He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, Young man, I tell you, arise. He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has arisen among us! and, God has visited his people! This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the surrounding region. (Luke 7:11-17, WEB)
And the ailing son of the royal official
He said to him, Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe. The officer said to him, Sir, come down before my child dies. Jesus said to him, Go your way. Your son lives. The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying Your child lives! So he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend (John 4:48-52, WEB)
We confidently pray to His will
Now this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15)
that His peace will comfort and overwhelm you and your son
be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, We entrust your son especially at night and when especially alone, when, often, fears can escalate.
Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid of evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)
In all their distress he also was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. (Isaiah 63:9)
May the almighty Father in heaven, who knows each and every concern you have for your son, ease your mind and his, and we are grateful for the compassion of God.
