We join you in praying for your son's healing and protection. It's wonderful that you included that this request is in Jesus' name, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is said in scripture, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Also the WEB also says there is no other name by which we can be saved. God is faithful and caring, always eager to hear and answer the prayers of His children.
We are reminded of the words in James 5:4, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your divine healing and protection for this beloved son. Lay Your healing hands upon him, and grant him complete restoration in body, mind, and spirit. Comfort him with Your presence, and guide him through this challenging time. Help him sleep in Jesus name. Envelop him in Your loving arms, and protect him from all harm and danger. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
While we trust in the Lord's healing power, may His will be done in this situation. Use his healing or circumstances to bring your son and others to believe in Jesus or rededicating themselves to Jesus.
Trust in God's promises, and stand firm on His word. We are exhorted to take comfort knowing "that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." and "The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of pain: You will turn all of his bed in his sickness." It goes on to say "Peace to you, be still, and take your rest, for the Lord has rewarded you to the full." Do not have anxiety over this situation but pray about everything and rest in the fact God is in control.
Continue to pray fervently, and seek the Lord's will in all things. If you have not already done so or were unsure how, we encourage a complete and full surrender of your son's life to God. Make it clear this is the case with your son. Announce it publicly and privately. For with God all things are possible. May He also see this as a test of faith.
Also "You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus." This would indicate we pray to become strong in Jesus. So it says the only way to become strong is to pray to Jesus. The context also indicate this is related to persevering as a believer having accepted salvation.
As this is maybe an opportunity to help save children and others and restore life's. If God has healed or will heal, there is an opportunity to be an witness and spread the gospel.
Teach him to "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." What an opportunity.
