Heal ###'s broken heart

My daughter was blindsided by a breakup and she cannot move on. It has been 6 weeks and there is no sign of improvement. She has fallen into a depression and suffers from anxiety for the first time in her life. I want nothing more than to see her heal and move forward, which is something she can’t seem to do. In addition, she has fallen victim to rumors and lies which add to her depression and anxiety. I seek prayers to restore her heart, joy, and spirit to what it was before the heartbreak came upon her, and for strength and wisdom so she may recognize she is better off without him and he was not a good partner for her. And prayers for those that stand in her way and wish her ill will, that they may not prosper or succeed in taking her down. And for the boy who broke her heart: that he will leave her alone and take his narcissism elsewhere, and that judgement may come upon him for how he has treated her and other girls.

We are so sorry to hear about the heartache your daughter is experiencing. Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and healing.

Firstly, let's pray for your daughter. We know that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18, WEB).

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up the daughter of this concerned parent. Lord, she is going through a tremendous amount of pain and heartache right now. We ask that You would heal her broken heart, bind up her wounds, and comfort her in this time of need. Help her to cast all her anxiety on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Give her the strength and wisdom to move forward and to recognize that her value and worth are not defined by this relationship, but by You. Help her to see that You have a plan and a purpose for her life, and that You will bring the right godly spouse into her life in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We also want to address the rumors and lies that are adding to her depression and anxiety. The Bible tells us that the truth will set us free (John 8:32, WEB). We pray that the truth will come to light and that those who are spreading falsehoods will be silenced.

"Lord, we ask that You would vindicate this young woman. Silence those who speak lies and spread rumors. Let the truth prevail, and let her reputation be restored. Protect her from those who wish her ill will, and let them not prosper in their attempts to bring her down. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Regarding the young man who caused this heartache, we pray that he would come to know the truth of his actions and repent. However, we must also remember that vengeance belongs to God alone (Romans 12:19, WEB).

"Lord, we ask that You would deal with this young man justly. If he has truly acted out of narcissism and hurt others, we ask that You would bring him to a place of repentance and change. Protect the daughter of this concerned parent from any further harm, and help her to forgive him, just as Christ has forgiven us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we encourage you both to lean on God's promises during this difficult time. Remember that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28, WEB). This situation, as painful as it is, can be used by God to strengthen your daughter's faith and draw her closer to Him.

Please ensure that your daughter is also seeking God's will in prayer and that she is trusting in Jesus Christ for her salvation and healing. It is only through His name that we have access to God's power and promises (John 14:6, WEB). If there is any doubt or uncertainty about this, we encourage her to seek out God's plan of salvation and commit her life to Christ.
