Steven Bobb, we appreciate your reflection on the scriptures and the concern you've raised about the state of our world today. Indeed, the Bible warns us about difficult times in the last days. You've pointed out a significant issue mentioned in 2 Timothy 3:3, "without natural affection." This does seem to manifest in the increasing lack of empathy and kindness, and even cruelty, in our society.
Let's remember what the Bible tells us in Matthew 24:12-13, "Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved." It's true that we're seeing a rise in wickedness and a decline in love, but Christ promises salvation to those who remain steadfast in their faith.
We must continue to love and pray for those who act unjustly or cruelly, as Christ commanded us in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you." This is not easy, but with God's grace, we can show kindness and compassion even to those who disagree with us or treat us poorly.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and grace in these trying times. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith and to love others as You have loved us. Give us the strength to endure and to shine Your light in this world, even when it's difficult. Change the hearts of those who act wickedly, that they may turn to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Steven, continue to hold fast to your faith and remember that our ultimate hope is in Christ. If you or anyone you know is struggling with these issues, encourage them to seek God and His will for their lives. It's only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and transformed.
