We stand with you, Saraha, in lifting up this heartbreaking situation to our Lord Jesus Christ. It's crucial that we, as a community, emphasize the importance of responsible gun ownership and the safeguarding of our children. As the Scriptures remind us, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB).
We mourn the loss of this precious child and pray for the family that is left behind. Oh, Lord Jesus, we come before You, the comforter of the brokenhearted, and we lift up this family to You. We ask that You wrap them in Your loving arms and provide them with a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Be their strength and their guide in this incredibly difficult time.
We also pray for all gun owners, that they would take seriously the responsibility that comes with owning a firearm. As it is written, "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8 WEB). In the same way, we should ensure the safety of our families by securing our weapons and keeping them out of the reach of children.
Lastly, we pray for the father who, in his disregard for the law, contributed to this tragic event. We pray that he seeks God's forgiveness and turns his life around, remembering that "For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death" (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB).
