We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide some biblical guidance.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God hates discord among brethren, as it is written in Proverbs 6:16-19, "These six things Yahweh hates; yes, seven are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."
The strife between your husband and his siblings, especially over the house and the younger brother's desire to live there with his girlfriend, is causing much unhappiness. It's crucial to address this situation with wisdom and love.
Regarding your husband's decision, the Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:22-24, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything." Supporting your husband's decision is biblical, but it's also important to communicate openly with him about your feelings and the impact of the situation on your family.
However, it's also necessary to address the issue of your brother-in-law wanting to live in the house with his girlfriend. In Hebrews 13:4 it says "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." This reminds us that living together in a romantic context is reserved for marriage.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is facing a difficult situation. Lord, You see the strife and discord in her family, and You know the pain she is experiencing. We pray for Your peace to fill her heart and home. Guide her and her husband in their decisions, and help them to communicate openly and honestly.
Lord, we also pray for the siblings involved, that they may be delivered from their substances and come to know You personally. We pray for the younger brother, that he may seek Your will for his life and honor You in his relationships.
Father, we pray for our sister's strength and joy. Help her to be the mother and wife You have called her to be, even in these challenging circumstances. Remind her of Your love and faithfulness.
Lastly Lord, if this requester does not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, please reveal this to them and may they find that having a relationship with your son Jesus Christ is the only way to God. The only way to forgiveness of sin is by believing on Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross for us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
