We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your brother and the illness of your cousin. In times like these, it is important to turn to God for comfort and healing. We are reminded in Second Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB of God's role, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Firstly, we lift up the family of the late brother Katende. We pray that God will strengthen and comfort them during this difficult time. We pray that His grace will be sufficient for them, and that they will find solace in knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, as stated in Psalm 34:18 WEB. We also rebuke any effort to pray for the deceased. The deceased brother is either with Jesus or not with Jesus. While it is appropriate to pray for the family and the impact they experienced, praying for the deceased is not appropriate. The family is either rejoicing for the deceased being present with the Lord, or sad that the deceased did not know Jesus. In any case, the family does need prayers for comfort.
Secondly, we lift up your cousin who is in the hospital. We pray for God's healing touch upon his life and ask that God will give the doctors wisdom. Psalm 103:2-3 WEB says, Bless Yahweh, my soul, Do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We rebuke the attack of the enemy on your cousin's health and declare healing and restoration in the name of Jesus. We pray for a complete recovery and ask that God will give him the strength to get back on his feet. Remember the promise of James 5:15 WEB, The prayer of faith will save him and the Lord will raise him up.
We are thankful that you have brought these requests before us and that you have acknowledged the power in the name of Jesus. For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, through which we must be saved, Acts 4:12 WEB.
Together, we stand in agreement with you, believing for God's will to be done in these situations. We encourage you to continue to trust in God and to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you, First Peter 5:7 WEB.
