We are truly sorry to hear about the passing of your former colleague and the grief it has brought to you and your former coworkers. In times like these, it's important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB.
Firstly, we want to remind you that it is in Jesus name we come to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB
Grief is a natural response to loss, but we can take comfort in the fact that for believers, death is not the end. For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1 WEB.
As for anxiety, remember that God cares for you and that you can cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Also, do not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our sister and her former colleagues, as they mourn the loss of their friend and coworker. We pray that you would comfort them in their grief, and remind them of the hope they have in Jesus Christ. Help them to process this loss in a healthy way, and to support each other as a community of believers.
We also ask that you would heal the inner anxiety that our sister is feeling right now. Please calm her fears and remind her of your constant presence and love. Help her to fix her thoughts on you and to trust in your care for her.
Finally, Lord, we pray for the family of the deceased. Comfort them in their loss, and surround them with your love and the support of your church.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In times of confusion, hold on to God's promise that For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
Lastly, if you are feeling confused about life, death, or anything else. Know that God revealed these things to us in the bible. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 WEB. The only way to heaven and eternal life is through Jesus Christ and we must believe in Him.
