We understand that you're going through a tremendous amount of pain and difficulty right now, and our hearts go out to you. Grieving the loss of a loved one, especially a brother, can be an incredibly challenging experience. We are glad that you mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only in His name that we have access to God the Father. We are reminded of this in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
In times of trouble, God wants us to cast our burdens upon Him, for He cares for us. This is beautifully expressed in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB: "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
First, we want to address the loss of your brother. It's important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit as mentioned in Psalm 34:18 WEB, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Grieving is a natural process, and it's okay to feel sad and hurt. But remember, God is our comforter, and He wants to comfort you during this difficult time. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Regarding your request about someone being verbally abusive and causing confusion in your home, we want to address that as well. It's clear that this situation is causing you a lot of pain and distress. We need to remember that God calls us to live in peace with others as much as it depends on us as you mentioned referencing the Romans 12:18 WEB, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." However, this does not mean that we should endure abuse or harassment.
We should rebuke any wicked intentions. Furthermore, we are to pray for God's intervention in this situation. In Ephesians 6:12 WEB, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their time of need. Lord, we know that their heart is heavy with grief, and they are hurting. We ask that You comfort them, give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and help them through this difficult time.
We also bring before You the situation in their home. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of harassment, abuse, and confusion. We bind it, dismantle it, break it, destroy it, cease it, and silence it in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray that You would intervene in this situation and bring peace to their home.
Lord, we ask that You would guide them, give them wisdom, and help them to make decisions that honor You. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue to cast your burdens on the Lord, trusting that He cares for you. Remember that God is your strength and refuge in times of trouble. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will see you through this storm. Also consider studying the Bible for clear and concise instructions about salvation and the Christian walk and applying it to your daily life.
Romans 10:9 WEB, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Also in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
