We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with addiction and depression that ### is facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as we believe that all healing comes from Him.
Firstly, we acknowledge that addiction is a form of bondage, and God wants ### to be free. As it is written in Galatians 5:1, "For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." We rebuke the spirit of addiction and depression, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
We pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see his struggle, and You know his pain. We ask that You break the chains of addiction and heal him from his depression. Give him a new desire to serve and help others, and to do the things that please You.
Father, we know that Your word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." We claim this promise for ###, that he would become a new creation in You, free from the bondage of his past.
Lord Jesus, You said in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We ask that ### would find true freedom in You, and that he would surrender his life completely to Your lordship.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill ### with Your presence, that You would guide him in the way he should go, and that You would empower him to live a life that is pleasing to God.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
###, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for ###, as it's stated in James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much." Remember that God is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in ###'s life.
Lastly, we urge you to surround ### with godly counsel and support. As Proverbs 15:22 says, "Plans fail with no counsel, but with many counselors they succeed." This could include Christian counselors, support groups, and trusted believers who can hold him accountable and encourage him in his walk with the Lord.
With our prayers, we also add, “Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse.” Romans 12:14 WEB. This is a great reminder to pray for those who may have led ### into this life.
Keep trusting in God, ###. He is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20.
