We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your grandson is facing, but we are here to stand with you in prayer and truth. Firstly, we commend you for your faith and acknowledgment that God is working on him. Remember, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, Ephesians 6:12 WEB.
However, we want to address a couple of things. The power of Christ is stronger than any demonic influence, and through Him, we can overcome any struggle, including drug addiction. It is important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved and set free. There is no other way to the Father except through Jesus, John 14:6 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved grandson to Your throne of grace. We acknowledge that he is struggling with drug addiction and the influence of the enemy, but we also know that Your power is greater. In the name of Jesus, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and every demonic influence in his life. We pray for his deliverance and healing, and we ask that You give him the strength and willingness to take his medication as prescribed.
Lord, we also pray for his grandmother, that You would give her the strength, patience, and hope to continue supporting him through this difficult time. Help her to rest in Your will and Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for good, Romans 8:28 WEB.
Finally, Lord, we pray that You would draw this young man to Yourself, that he would come to know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. We pray that he would be saved, not just from the demonic influence of drugs but from the penalty of sin. If he has not confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that would come to him. We pray that he would find freedom and new life in Christ, John 3:16-17 WEB.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and the name at which every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, Philippians 2:10 WEB. Amen.
As Matthew 11:28-30 WEB says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Encourage your grandson to come to Jesus today believing.
Lastly, we admonish you to be strong and courageous. The struggle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ Jesus.
