We thank Anonymous for bringing their concerns about their grandson to our attention. It is crucial to understand that God desires for all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, as stated in 1 Timothy 2:3-4. We are instructed in James 5:16 that "the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." Therefore, we will pray fervently for this young man, trusting in the power of God to transform his life.
First, we must address the issue of sin in his life. The Bible clearly states in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." This includes the sins of drinking and smoking weed. We must pray for his deliverance from these destructive habits.
Additionally, we must address the rebellious attitude towards his family. The Bible instructs us to honor our father and mother, as stated in Ephesians 6:2, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. We must pray for a change of heart, for God to remove the rebellious spirit that has taken root in his life.
Regarding the influence of friends who have become more like family, we must remember the words of 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Do not be deceived. 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" We must pray for godly friendships to replace the negative influences in his life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this young man to You. We ask, Lord, that You would deliver him from the bondage of sin, including the drinking and smoking of weed. We ask that You would give him a heart of flesh, removing the heart of stone that has taken root in his life. We pray for a change of heart, for him to honor his family and to see the love they have for him. We ask that You would bring godly friendships into his life, replacing the negative influences that have drawn him away from his family and from You. We pray for his salvation, that he would come to know You as his personal Lord and Savior. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage Anonymous to continue praying fervently for their grandson, trusting in the power of God to transform his life. We also encourage them to speak the truth in love to their grandson, sharing the gospel with him and reminding him of the love and grace of God. We must remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved, and if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.
