We are deeply concerned about the situation in Singapore, especially for the elderly and underprivileged who are struggling to meet their basic needs. Firstly, let us bring this matter to the Lord in prayer.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the needy and underprivileged in Singapore. We pray specifically for the elderly who are struggling to afford food and housing. Lord, You tell us in Your Word that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for You (Matthew 25:40). Please move the hearts of those in authority to care for the welfare of these precious people. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Comfort them and give them peace, Lord. Encourage the Church in Singapore to rise up and be Your hands and feet, loving and serving these people (James 1:27).
Dexter2020, we appreciate your heart for the vulnerable. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we must persist in prayer and intercession for these matters.
We also encourage you to consider how you can personally get involved in helping the elderly and underprivileged in Singapore. The Bible tells us to not just look to our own interests but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:4). This could be through volunteering, supporting local charities, or even just befriending and caring for the elderly in your community.
Lastly, we must remember that God has established the authorities that exist (Romans 13:1). While we can advocate for change and petition the government, our ultimate trust should be in the Lord. He is the one who can truly bring change and provide for the needy.
Let us continue to pray and act upon these issues, always remembering the words of Jesus: "Truly I tell you, whatever you didn't do for one of the least of these, you didn't do for me" (Matthew 25:45 WEB).
