We join with you, Sarah, in your prayer for good sleep, understanding the importance of rest for both our bodies and minds. The Bible tells us that God grants sleep to those he loves (Psalm 127:2, WEB).
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, seeking your divine rest. Thank you for the gift of sleep, a time when we can lay down our burdens and be renewed. We ask for your peaceful presence to fill our minds and hearts, casting out any anxiety or pain that may hinder our rest. We trust in your care, knowing that even when we are asleep, you are working for our good (Romans 8:28, WEB). Help us to wake refreshed and ready to serve you and others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to meditate on God's word before sleeping. Philippians 4:8 (WEB) reminds us to think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and worthy of respect. This can help to calm a racing mind and invite God's peace.
Remember, too, that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB). Trusting him with our concerns and worries is the first step to finding true rest.
We're glad you acknowledged the power of Jesus' name in your prayer. It's through his name that we have access to God's throne of grace, where we receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16, WEB).
