We are truly sorry to hear about your husband's health struggles and the toll it has taken on your family. We stand with you in prayer and believe in the power of Jesus' name for healing and comfort.
While evil exists in the world today we look forward to there being no sorrow or suffering in heaven.
God provides us comfort in this life as we prepare for the next. We even suffer ourselves as Christians living willingly or unwillingly in a world where God's love has not been accepted throughout.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her husband in prayer. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we believe that You have the power to heal and restore. We pray for Your healing touch upon her husband, that You would relieve him of his sufferings and grant him renewed strength and health.
Hey Lord you have said it is honorable for a man to bear up under the pains of suffering. Help the whole family in your name.
For the family we pray:
Help them to encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
Help them to care for him without grumbling and complaining.
For the wife specifically we pray:
Help her to reverence, respect and love her husband similar to the treatment the church gives to Jesus.
Help her to exemplify the Proverbs 31 wife in this time of trial.
We also pray for strength and endurance for the whole family, that You would help them carry this burden with patience and thanksgiving. We pray this in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior's.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
What a comfort to know that it is not God's will that any should perish. He is willing and may heal but we cannot tell our Lord what to do.
Peter said to Jesus:
Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Our Lord and Savior replied:
Don't be afraid. From now on you will catch men.
When Jesus had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean. Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, I want to. Be made clean. Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Jesus said to him,See you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.
Remember that Jesus was moved with compassion seeing the crowd of people not just the leper and his problems. He saw everyone and addressed the leper's immediate issue, then mourned for the crowds of sinners standing around him later. So he has a heart for you and your husband.
Jesus said:
He who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God's voice; and those who hear will live.
For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Don't marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
Pray to him. In Jesus Christ's name. Pray together with your husband. Strengthen your relationship in him. Marriage is strong forever.
Remember the testimony of Jesus:
They brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you.
Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, This man blasphemes.
Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil in your hearts?
For which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Get up and walk?
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins (then he said to the paralytic), Get up, and take up your mat, and go up to your house.
He arose and departed to his house.
Be strong in the Lord. Together let us rejoice in this life and hope for each other in the next so that we may not have to kneel before Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior on that great day when he is in the valley of Jehosaphat and say in shame
Lord, Lord, didn't we?...prophecy, or cast out demons, or worked mighty works or Jesus Christ responds and answers them, Most certainly I tell you, I don't know nor recognize you at all.
Depart from me, you who work lawlessness of Levi as is spoken by the prophet Malakhi.
Much love, peace and comfort in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior
