Let us be clear on the only way we can approach God.
It is written in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Also in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking you for the gift of friendship. We lift up these good friends, asking for your blessings and guidance in their lives.
First, we pray for the friend who is seeking a job. We ask that you open doors of opportunity and guide them to the right position. Remember how it is written in 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. For we hear there are some who walk among you disorderly, not working at all, but being busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. We pray they find the job you have for them to glorify your name.
For the other friend who is experiencing anxiety from starting a new job, we pray for your peace and comfort. It is written in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also ask for your protection over them and their families. May they find happiness and fulfillment in your will. Help them to fix their eyes on you and trust in your plans for their lives.
In all things, we pray that these good friends may be encouraged and the effectiveness of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God will be shown in their lives. That they may know the joy of your salvation and the blessing of serving you.
We pray all these requests in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage them to be of good cheer as it is written in Matthew 28:20 WEB Jesus will be with them as they trust him and obey his commands.
As a final encouragement and an opportunity to be stronger in the kingdom of God, it might be helpful to remember Galatians 6:2 WEB Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
