Good evening I hope everyone is well. I hope everyone finds this prayer well I would like to thank you for all that. Pray for me. I really appreciate it. I’d like to write another prayer request. 1. I have already mentioned that me and my mother I have a problems with our housing August 3, 2024 management to evict us for nonpayment of rent my mother always 12 thousand dollars plus in rent, The apartment that we live in is a NYCHA Section 8 apartment I have applied for a emergency rental assistance grant and I’m just hoping that we get Approved Housing company are not good people they refused to fix anything in the Apartment. There are many damages in the Apartment, We have received a warrant of eviction stating that we have 30 days to pay, the amount we owe will be evicted 30 days is almost over they are going to evict us on August 3, 2024. I’m very worried I just hope and pray to God that this does not happen to us. I hope there’s a way to stop the eviction on August 1, 2024. My mother and I have an appointment at NYCHA Section 8 we are going to why we shouldn’t be and I also have 20 photos of the damages in the apartments. I don’t know what they’re going to do. I don’t know if we’re going to get someone will help us because most of the workers there are rude. they have attitude and they don’t wanna help people so I hope, someone that wants to help us. 2. My mother‘s rent have went up more and one bedroom apartment. My mother is 59 and I am 21 I just turned 21 on July 12. My mother works at hair braiding salon. She gets paid $200 in cash. I work at a retail store I’ve been working there for two years now I only work 5 to 10 hours a week . They don’t schedule me as much, I have picked up another job overnight security job. I work 15 hours two days only I have also picked up another summer four days a week so I have three jobs, All the three jobs I get paid $16 an hour. I’ve started the security job four months ago and the summer job I started it July 1, 2024 And I am also a college student and I take summer classes. I am a senior in college. My mother and I are African. My mother is immigrant. I am a US citizen. I was born in the United States some months ago my mother had requested a conference meeting from. NYCHA Because she wanted to know why the rent was getting more higher One bedroom apartment, my mother pays $945.45 every month rent And NYCHA $648.00 NYCHA pays half of the rent because my mother Is a section 8 voucher holder The whole entire rent cost $1555.86 It doesn’t make sense why they raised the Rent up so much and when I ask them, their response was they couldn’t do nothing about it because my mother is not US citizen not able to help to lower the rent after she becomes a US citizen they can help her my mother was so upset. She just said OK but she was hurt. 3. My mother has been living in the United States for about 22 years now and recently turned 21 I was so excited to 2021 because I wanted to be able to file for citizenship for my mother so she can be able to be the best citizen I have and the immigration has not called me to give me an exact date or time, but I am happy though. I feel like The housing management is somewhat trying to take an advantage of my mother since she is African and she doesn’t speak English very well when she paid her rent three days later it was stating that we received the rent when they received it. That’s the whole reason why my mother stopped rent and this was back in 2022 when they didn’t receive the rent for four months and they received the rent and they also gave receipts to my mother, but they lied I don’t know why they’re doing this to us and now they want to evict us I’m starting to dislike living in New York. I just wish a good apartment even if the one bedroom apartment I don’t mind sharing a low price. My mother is also disabled. She has a Prosthesis leg on her left leg and she stands to work hard to pay her rent and they state that they don’t receive the payments. These people are not good. I have applied yesterday for a new section 8 voucher to move to a different apartment. This is the third time I applied for a section 8 voucher the first time my mother was approved for the section 8 voucher but we never found an apartment, the second time we found an apartments the applied for the apartments with the broker never responded to us. I even messaged him. He didn’t even respond to my messages. The lawyer that supposed to be helping me and my mother she went ghost on us she doesn’t even respond to my emails, hopefully we get the emergency rental assistance and hopefully when we go to our appointment on August 1 be able to help us to put a pause on it where we go we barely have any family in New York would be embarrassing Having nowhere to go Life has been kind of hard my mom she is positive. She pray and prays all the time. I just admire her Because I’m very worried about August 3 When I think about it, the whole entire mood just changes . 4. My mom just wants to move to apartment but it’s very hard to find in New York everywhere you go it’s very expensive my mother needs a Apartments on the first, second floor or third floor or the elevators due to her disability, we live on the fifth floor no elevators. We first moved into the building. We got the first floor, but the broker he took it from us and gave it to some Spanish lady and put us on the fifth floor, then lie about it and said that the first floor apartment wasn’t safe My mother confronted him about it and he said lied and said someone Got it first before us when we were the first to get the apartment my mother didn’t argue back because my mom’s caseworker Started yelling at her and told her to take it my mom just took the kids. It’s very hard to find an apartment plus it was close to my middle school at the time we have been living in this apartment for seven years since October 1, 2017 since I was in middle school and now I’m about to be done with College. I’m just really nervous about what’s going to happen on August 3. I hope you don’t get evicted on August 3. I hope my section 8 voucher gets processed fast I hope we find a great one or two bedroom apartment in a good location for great price. May God protect my friends and family.
