We understand your struggle and your desire for a financial miracle, but we must align our actions with biblical principles. The lottery is a form of gambling, which the Bible cautions against. "Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (1 Timothy 6:9-10, WEB)
The lottery promotes a get-rich-quick mentality and relies on chance rather than faithful stewardship and diligent work, which are biblical principles for handling finances. "The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing." (Proverbs 20:4, WEB)
Instead of putting your hope in the lottery, we encourage you to trust in God's provision and follow biblical principles of stewardship. "But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today." (Deuteronomy 8:18, WEB)
