Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family in prayer. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." Lord, we know You are a God who hears our cries and delivers us from our struggles.
We pray specifically for the two sons, the daughter, and the son-in-law who are battling the chains of drugs and alcohol. Father, we ask for Your divine intervention and deliverance. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, You promise that You will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear and that You will provide a way out. Lord, provide them a way out of this addiction and bring them to a place of healing and restoration.
We also pray for the daughter who is raising two children without a job. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider. Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." We ask that You open doors of opportunity for employment and provide for her and her children in miraculous ways.
For the elder son who is sleeping on the streets, Lord, we ask for Your protection and provision. Psalm 91:1-2 declares, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Shelter him under Your wings, Lord, and bring him to a place of safety and stability.
We also ask for a spirit of respect and love to fill this household. Ephesians 6:2-3 instructs us to "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—"so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." May these children honor their parent and may peace and understanding reign in this family.
Lord, we trust in Your unfailing love and mercy. We believe that You can bring transformation and hope where there seems to be none. We place this family into Your hands, knowing that You are more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
