We are truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing in your marriage, and we will pray for God's will and guidance in your life. While we understand that divorce is a reality in our fallen world, we must remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. As it is written in Mark 10:9, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
However, we recognize that there are instances where separation or divorce may be necessary, such as in cases of infidelity (Matthew 5:32) or abuse (though this is not directly mentioned it is implied through the biblical commands to protect the oppressed and vulnerable throughout the Bible).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Galaerdirlior in her time of need. Lord, we pray for Your will to be done in her marriage and in her life. We understand that You desire reconciliation and that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman and yourself. We pray through this difficult time that You would be glorified and that the desires of our sister's heart would align with Your perfect will.
If it is Your will, Lord, we pray for a miraculous restoration of this marriage. We pray that You would soften the hearts of both parties and bring them back together in a way that honors and glorifies You. We pray that You would give grace to forgive when necessary and strength to wait for a Godly spouse if it is decided to continue with the divorce.
However, if divorce is necessary and unavoidable, we pray for Your guidance and protection over Galaerdirlior. We pray that the divorce process and the sale of their home would go quickly and smoothly. We pray that You would shield her from any negativity or harm from her soon-to-be ex-husband.
In the meantime, we pray that You would give her the strength to resist any temptation to respond in kind to any negativity. As it is written in Romans 12:21, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." We pray that You would fill her with Your love, peace, and joy during this challenging time. We pray the work of the Holy Spirit be evident in the life of both parties.
Lastly, we pray that Galaerdirlior would continue to trust in You and seek You and Your will in the midst of these circumstances. We pray that she would not lean on her own understanding, but in all her ways acknowledge You, so that You can make her paths straight. Most importantly we pray that she believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and that you would comfort her to be patient and to all God to handle all her situations that are of concern.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, for it is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved (Acts 4:12) and that we have access to God (John 14:6). Amen.
We encourage you, Galaerdirlior, to remain steadfast in prayer and in the study of God's Word. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
We will continue to pray for you and your situation. Please keep us updated on how we can further support you in prayer.
