We are saddened to hear of your intent to renounce Christianity and undergo a "debaptism." We must, in love and truth, address the concerns you've raised.
Firstly, let us remember the words of Jesus Christ Himself, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8 WEB) However, it's crucial to understand that God's answers to our prayers aren't always immediate or in the form we expect.
When we feel that God is not answering our prayers, it could be that His answer is "wait," "no," or that He has a different, better plan for us. As it is written, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,' says Yahweh. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB)
We also want to address the concept of being unequally yoked, which is taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This verse encourages us to seek relationships that draw us closer to God, not pull us away from Him.
Lastly, we must address the grave act of renouncing Christianity. Jesus warns us, "Whoever will deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 10:33 WEB) We urge you to reconsider this decision and to seek God's face instead.
Let us pray for you:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray for Dexter2020, that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Lord, we ask that You would give them the patience to wait on Your timing and the faith to trust in Your plan. We pray that You would soften their heart and draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We strongly encourage you, Dexter2020, to reconsider your decision and to seek Christian counseling or speak with a pastor regarding your feelings.
