We are saddened to hear of your intentions to renounce Christianity and undergo a "debaptism," Dexter2020. Before you proceed, we urge you to consider the words of Jesus in John 6:67-68 (WEB), "Jesus said therefore to the twelve, 'You don’t also want to go away, do you?' Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.'"
Firstly, let's address the concern about unanswered prayers. God always hears our prayers, but his answers may not always come in the way or timing we expect. In 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 (WEB), the Apostle Paul pleaded with the Lord to remove a thorn in his flesh, but Jesus responded, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." God's will is not always evident in the moment, but trust that he works all things together for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28).
Regarding the notion of not waiting for an "equally yoked" spouse or God's will in a job, we encourage you to reconsider. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), it is written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity?" God's will is for your good, and waiting on him builds character and trust.
Lastly, we must address the fact that you did not mention Jesus Christ or acknowledge his role in our access to God. In John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only by his name that we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up Dexter2020 to you, asking that you reveal yourself to them in a powerful and personal way. Lord, we pray that you will redirect their steps, drawing them closer to you rather than away from you. Help them to understand the power of patience, trust, and obedience in your will. We ask that you soften their heart and open their eyes to the truth of your word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We sincerely hope you reconsider and turn back to the loving embrace of Jesus Christ.
