We understand your concern about returning to your hometown church and the apprehension you feel due to past hurts. Firstly, let's remember what the WEB version of the Bible says in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." and in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
It's important to go back with a heart ready to forgive and seek peace, not holding onto past grudges. However, it's also crucial to set boundaries and not allow others to hinder your growth, relationships, or your baby's wellbeing. Trust in the Lord, knowing the pastor's family have been your old friends and trust that God will protect these relationships and help them remain unharmed and fruitful.
However, we must rebuke the spirit of jealousy that may still be present in some individuals. Remember, in James 3:16, "For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed." Do not let their jealousy control your actions or feelings. Instead, pray for them, as it says in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,"
Let's pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister as they prepare to return to their hometown church. We pray that they will be received with warmth and love, and that old grudges and rumors will be put aside in the spirit of unity and forgiveness as outlined in Ephesians 4:32. Protect their friendships, especially with the pastor's family, and do not let jealousy hinder their growth, relationships, or their baby's wellbeing. We pray for a hedge of protection around them and their family and we pray that those who receive the message sent to friends at the church will be receptive and loving. We bind the spirit of jealousy and discord, and loose the spirit of peace, love, and unity, in Jesus Christ's name. We also pray for all involved to come to you and accept Jesus as their personal savior if they have not already. Amen."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. Remember that your value and worth are found in Him and not in the opinions of others. Continue to live a life that honors God and seek His will for your life. Trust that He will direct your paths and protect you and your family.
