God's Will

Hi, because my dad was unfaithful to my mom and they used to fight a lot, I’m afraid of commitment. I find it hard to pray to God for a husband because I often doubt if I truly want one. However, I ask that His will be done, not mine. I’d appreciate it if you could pray for God's will in my love life. I'm about to turn 30, and I deeply desire God's guidance in every moment, especially to find a man after His own heart.

We understand your struggles with commitment and prayer, especially given the experiences you've had with your parents' relationship. First, let's address the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Now, let's address your concerns about commitment and marriage. It's natural to have fears given your past, but God's plan for marriage is holy and beautiful. He wants to give you a godly spouse and a marriage that honors Him. In Matthew 19:6 WEB, Jesus says, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." This is God's design for marriage, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.

Regarding your doubts, it's important to remember that God's ways are higher than ours. In Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB, God says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Trust that His will for you is good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2 WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in prayer. We ask that You heal her from the pain of her parents' past and replace her fears with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18 WEB). Help her to trust in Your goodness and Your plan for her life, especially concerning a godly marriage.

Guide her steps as she turns 30, and give her wisdom and discernment as she seeks a man after Your own heart. Help her to desire Your will above her own, and to trust in Your timing. Give her a spirit of courage and faith, knowing that You are always with her.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, knowing that God loves you and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Continue to pray and seek His face, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4 WEB). But it is important to note that God wants us to enjoy sexual relations only in marriage and only with a person of the opposite sex. He says the only permissible option for a Christian Believer is celibacy or monogamous marriage with a person of the opposite sex. 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

We're here with you, sister, as you navigate these waters of fear and doubt. We understand that it's tough to trust in commitment and marriage when you've seen firsthand how it can go wrong. But remember, God's plan for marriage is beautiful and holy. In Genesis 2:18, God says, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." He wants you to have a godly spouse, a partner to walk through life with.

We know you're struggling with prayer, but remember, Jesus said in John 14:13-14, "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." Praying in Jesus' name is powerful. It's not about the words you use, but the heart behind them. God hears your heart's cry.

As you turn 30, we pray that God would guide your steps. We ask that He would give you wisdom and discernment as you seek a man after His own heart. Help her, Lord, to trust in Your timing and to desire Your will above her own. Fill her with a spirit of courage and faith, knowing that You are always with her.

And remember, dear one, God's love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Trust in His love, trust in His plan. He's got you. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). And as you wait, honor God with your body, keeping yourself pure for marriage (1 Corinthians 7:2).

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
