We are truly sorry to hear about your loss and we are here to support you in this difficult time. It is important to remember that death is a part of life, and as believers, we find comfort in the promises of God. As it is written in (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14,18 WEB), "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus...Therefore comfort one another with these words."
In light of this, we should not grieve as those without hope, but rather mourn the loss while rejoicing that your loved one is now with our Lord. This perspective allows us to better navigate our emotions and energy when dealing with loss. It is also important to rebuke a subtle theme of superstition. If the person did die at the time you mentioned, it is only a coincidence, and has no control over your life or the lives of those around you. The Bible clearly states, (Job 3:25-26 WEB) "For the thing which I fear comes on me, That which I am afraid of comes to me. I am not at ease, neither am I quiet, neither have I rest; But trouble comes." We cannot live in fear or superstition; our security is found in Christ alone. We should not refrain from mourning, but rather we should mourn without despair. We should also remember that it is not the will of God for us to live in fear or to believe in superstitions.
It is also important to pray together in the name of Jesus Christ. This is something that was lacking in your request. God listens to our prayer because He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us and reconcile us to Him. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. (John 14:6 WEB) "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" In future prayers, remember to come before God in Jesus name.
Let us pray together for you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in their time of need. We thank You for the life of their loved one and the hope that we have in You. We pray that You would comfort them and their family in this time of loss, and that You would help them to mourn with hope and joy, knowing that their loved one is now with You. We also pray that You would rebuke any spirits of superstition or fear, and that You would help them to live in the freedom and security that is found in Christ alone. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.
